Millions of years ago Giant Sequoias grew everywhere. Now they grow only in a few locations, such as the Western side of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. This tree has a base diameter of almost 30 feet.

Mustang Clover, Sequoia National Park

You will find millions of this tiny (0.4-in) flower growing in open spaces during early summer. As you walk past, they look like a pale pink blanket, trembling in the wind. But up close, they reveal the complex beauty of nature.

Bear Cub in Round Meadow, Sequoia National Park

This bear cub behaved like a toddler, climbing on logs, jumping off, and playing with flowers, while Mama Bear went about her business, eating. It was similar to a mother and child in a supermarket.
