A Guest in My Home

I make the payments, I do
but I don’t own this place, no way

I certainly live here, that’s true
but I’m more like a guest, sort of

I buy all of the supplies, that too
but I don’t shop for me, not first

I choose the furniture, of course
but I always sit last, oh my

I’m the largest one here, by far
but I don’t make the rules, not me

I suppose I could change, I know
but I’d rather have a cat, I would
