How Small Matters

Small is good.

Why?

✅ Easy to Do

A small step takes less effort and time.

✅ Easy to Start

A small start takes less planning and preparation.

So starting small makes it easier to begin a project.

✅ Easy to Change

A small step can be reversed, usually quickly and easily.

It can also be stopped with less effort.

✅ Low Risk

The cost or investment is less.

And the consequences are more manageable.

✅ Necessary

Often a small step is an essential part of learning.

Or it’s an experimental process (i.e., try, evaluate, adjust, and try).

And of course, every project begins with some action.

✅ Growth

All improvement consists of making small changes.

Every achievement comes from collecting small victories.

✅ Example #1:

This post is easy to read.

It contains short sentences. With brief ideas.

✅ Example #2:

I was stuck.

Then I wrote one word.

Really, just one word.

And that led to another, and another, and another.

Then I made many small edits.

So small works.

✅ Suggestion:

Realize that small matters.

So think small, start small, and plan small on your way to huge success

Much success,

Steve Kaye

Did You Know?

The most effective way to help birds is to buy land.

Here are three organizations that excel at doing this.

1) American Bird Conservancy

2) The Nature Conservancy

3) The Trust for Public Land

Please visit their web sites to learn about the work they do.

Here’s an excellent book: The American Bird Conservancy Guide to Bird Conservation
