When Large Matters

Sometimes large matters.

For example:

✳️ Large Courage

All of us encounter obstacles. Some seem daunting. Others scary.

So we show courage by overcoming these obstacles.

Let’s recognize that obstacles are actually challenges.

Begin by considering your options. Next choose one option that has the most potential for progress. And then take one small step forward with that option.

This small step represents smart courage. That’s because a small step is easier to take. And it’s easier to adjust into another, perhaps better step forward.

All courage appears in deliberate steps that overcome a challenge.

✳️ Large Resilience

All of us have suffered adversities. Some were horrible. Others inconvenient.

So we show resilience by living forward after adversity.

We do this by first asking: Why is this happening FOR me? And then we find the growth or the lesson in the adversity.

We can also find comfort in knowing that the people who made the greatest contributions to help others did so after having suffered tremendous adversities.

All resilience shows the world that you can rise above adversity.

✳️ Large Gratitude

All of us have collected victories. Some were earned. Others given.

So we embrace our wealth, whether it’s material, emotional, or educational. Whether it’s small, medium, or large.

Gratitude is a powerful offset for hardships. It reminds us that we can overcome obstacles. It reminds us that we can survive adversities. That’s because these hardships were our teachers.

So we need to begin and end each day with gratitude.

Then we need to create reasons for more gratitude.

All gratitude waits to be discovered to inspire us.

You may have noticed:

While we strive for large courage, large resilience, and large gratitude, each of these comes through small, purposeful actions. So make these a priority in every day. Seek ways to include them in everything that you do.

Each of you is special and important. Each of you has a role in building a future for humanity.

And we’re all in this life experience together, supporting each other.

That takes courage, resilience, and gratitude.

Wish you the best,

Steve Kaye

As usual another wonderful post with great wisdom. I recently made a decision to move into a care home, this was a huge decision for me and I have been thinking about it on and off for over a year, but when I made it I felt at peace and I knew it was the right decision. I think having been on a silent retreat recently gave me the clarity of mind to make the decision, and I was very grateful for it. As you say, everything is there to teach us and also everything is there to help us. Thank you again. Namaste.

What excellent timing! Some days (like maybe today) when everything seems too big and too much and too hopeless, a small, deliberate next step, grounded in gratitude for what we have, can be a powerful thing. ❤️
