The Power of a Pause
Do you pause?
That is, do you take a moment for yourself?
Here are some possibilities.
✅ Breathe
This can be a moment of mindfulness. Or it can be a brief meditation.
For example, while waiting for something (such as your turn in line), you could think, “Breathe in, Breathe out,” while breathing in and breathing out.
Benefit: You convert waiting to healing.
✅ Move;
If you spend much of your day sitting, pause to move every 10 or 20 minutes.
For example, you could walk for a minute. Or you could could stretch. Or you could stand up and then sit down.
This movement will improve your thinking.
And the detachment from your work may lead to a new idea.
Benefit: You attend to physical well-being throughout the day.
✅ Think
In this case, reflect on life.
For example, you could ask yourself questions, such as:
Why am I here?
What do I need?
How can I help?
And so on.
By the way, if you need a question, try: What question would help me?
You may find it useful to write lists of answers to these questions (because life is a multiple-answer test).
And you may notice that your answers change as you travel through time. So it’s useful to ask these questions again, and again, and again.
Benefit: You gain greater control over the choices that define your life.
Much success,
Steve Kaye

Posted at 14:35h, 25 MayGreat reminder today! I needed this post. I do a lot of editing at my desk, so I decided to stand the rest of this session. Great photo of that lil busy bird! I just love Tufted Titmice! I’ve gotten lucky to photograph a couple this spring at my feeders. Would love to have time to go out in the woods and photograph them in the wild though! Thanks for this post Steve! Be well.

We certainly enjoy reading your posts and looking at your photos.
I’m thinking about buying a Canon R6 or an R8 and a couple different lenses. Do you have any thoughts?
I did read your article about what equipment you use and also how to choose for oneself, and I will do my best to follow your advice.
Thank you for your wonderful website and content!
