Bodhi Tree Leaf

Allow Wonder | Dec 2025

Allow Wonder

First, what is wonder?

It’s being fascinated by what you find, however common, simple, or small.

It’s pausing to discover things you know.

And it’s letting curiosity open your creativity.

For example, let’s consider opportunities to wonder through the seasons.

Fall: Bodhi Tree Leaf

🌲 Fall

During Fall you might pause to admire, study, and wonder over a leaf.

Notice the colors, the shapes, and the veins.

And then notice how different trees change in different ways during this season.

❄️ Winter

During Winter you might enjoy the way snow changes the scenery around you.

If you go outside, notice the textures and the beauty of snow.

But even from inside, you can notice frost on windows, icicles hanging from edges, and snow covering the ground.

Spring: Agapanthus

🌺 Spring

During Spring, you could spend time with flowers.

Notice the colors, the details, and the patterns.

And if bees come to these flowers, you could watch them collecting pollen.

Then wonder how a life so small can complete a task so large.

Summer: Monarch Caterpillar

🦋 Summer

During summer you might watch a caterpillar eating a leaf.

Or you could notice the birds, the butterflies, the squirrels, or anyone else who comes by.

Each brings their own inspirational lessons of diligence, intelligence, and persistence.

With wonder we join them and understand them.

All the above examples are just a beginning.

So how can you enrich the coming year with wonder?

Much success,

Steve Kaye

Did You Know?

The most effective way to help birds is to buy land.

Here are three organizations that excel at doing this.

1) American Bird Conservancy

2) The Nature Conservancy

3) The Trust for Public Land

Please visit their web sites to learn about the work they do.

Here’s an excellent book: The American Bird Conservancy Guide to Bird Conservation
