What Do You Hear?

When you listen to Nature, what do you hear?

Because Nature has important wisdom for us.

And it’s about how to live.

For example, you may hear Nature tell you about:

🌲 Cooperation

Every life in Nature acts in partnership with the rest of Nature.

More so, each species achieves success in ways that create success for the others it depends upon.

For example, bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds pollinate flowers.

This makes the next generation of flowers that feeds their next generation.

🌲 Diversity

Nature is a complex mix of extremes: Large and small, Fast and slow, Fierce and mild.

Each has an important role that contributes to the future of everyone.

In fact, Nature exists, succeeds, and thrives because of its diversity.

🌲 Enough

Each life in Nature takes only what it needs.

As a result, Nature operates as a balanced system where no one species is a threat to the future of the rest.

Nature enforces this.

For example, if one species is too successful during a season, their food supply becomes smaller next season. And in turn, that causes their numbers to shrink, which then allows their food supply to recover.

🌲 Persistence

Every part of Nature finds a way to continue through hardships. These include cold weather, scarce food, and storms.

🌲 Responsibility

Each life lives as if their future depended upon the rest. So no species destroys, exploits, or pollutes Nature for its own profit.

🌲 Truth

Nature is an honest system. Specifically, every action in Nature causes a predictable reaction.

So it follows the basic rule: You receive what you cause.

There’s a special message for us, humans.

We have intelligence.

It’s demonstrated by our ability to create solutions, to advance knowledge, and to act with kindness.

Most important, this intelligence distinguishes us as having the ability to make deliberate choices.

As with any gift, we have the responsibility to use this intelligence wisely.

So what choices can you make that will create a future for everyone?

Personal Note

All the above lessons have been known since the beginning of words.

They are the essential tenets for a sustainable society.

I spent an hour listening to Nature today.

And I heard acceptance, courage, and resilience.

As a result, I felt calmer, inspired, and refreshed.

All my challenges seemed more achievable.

And I gained serenity.

Much success,

Steve Kaye

Did You Know?

The most effective way to help birds is to buy land.

Here are three organizations that excel at doing this.

1) American Bird Conservancy

2) The Nature Conservancy

3) The Trust for Public Land

Please visit their web sites to learn about the work they do.

Here’s an excellent book: The American Bird Conservancy Guide to Bird Conservation
