The Forest sends you greetings on Earth Day, 2025.

It also has suggestions that will help you care for the Forest.

🌲 Know Your Actions Affect the Forest

Realize you are as much a part of the Forest as the Forest is a part of you.

So everything you do matters. Even small actions matter because small actions add up to become big changes.

Thus, challenge each choice for its value in making life better for the Forest, and in turn, for yourself.

As people, we can exert considerable influence by choosing what and where we shop.

For example, buy Green products (or services) and buy from Green companies.

🌲 Make the Forest Better

Begin by caring for yourself. So eat healthy (e.g., organic) foods, learn new skills, and take time for rest.

Then create a personal environment that supports how you want to live.

Next plan for the future as if your most wonderful dreams would come true.

Achieve this by supporting your dreams with strategies (which are global actions that help you realize your dream).

Then use these strategies to make plans.

🌲 Protect the Forest

Live as if your future depends upon the future of the Forest. Because the Forest is a community that includes you.

Thus, live with enough. And then either save or share the rest. After all, everything we own eventually goes back to the Forest.

Use resources wisely. Minimize waste; and dispose of it responsibly.

🌲 Help Others in the Forest

Everything in the Forest is connected. And thus each part of the Forest contributes to the well-being of the Forest.

So find appropriate ways to support others.

This will depend upon what you can offer and upon what they need.

And it can, for example, be as simple as offering encouragement, sharing a smile, or helping with a task.

🌲 Go with the Seasons

The forest endures because it adapts to each season.

Sprout and grow during spring. Bloom and thrive during summer. Sow and dream during autumn. Rest and plan during winter.

And then bend with winds, hold the earth during storms, and unfold in warmth.

🌲 Stay Connected with the Rest of the Forest

Show this by spending time with those who add to your vitality.

Send them notes. Visit them. Call them.

Then be fully present during each conversation. Put everything else aside, including tasks, thoughts, and worries. Listen. Ask guiding questions. Show compassion. Be kind.

Help others feel glad they are spending time with you.

Did You Know?

The most effective way to help birds is to buy land.

Here are three organizations that excel at doing this.

1) American Bird Conservancy

2) The Nature Conservancy

3) The Trust for Public Land

Please visit their web sites to learn about the work they do.

Here’s an excellent book: The American Bird Conservancy Guide to Bird Conservation
