Gratitude

Another reason for gratitude: Snowy Egret, (c) Photo by Steve Kaye

Snowy Egret

Gratitude can be more than saying, “Thank you.”

Here are three suggestions that will put more joy in your life:

1) Be generous with gratitude.

Seek out the good in others. And then praise them for it.

2) Create reasons for gratitude.

Help others achieve their greatest potential. Then thank them for their efforts and results.

3) Celebrate gratitude every day.

Pretend that every day is Thanksgiving. Then it becomes a daily recognition of all that is good in our lives.

Why this puts more joy in our lives.

We hear what we say as if it were spoken to us.

So being grateful toward others, comes back as being grateful for ourselves.

By the way, here’s an article with more ideas on kindness. See: 27 Ways to Be Kind.

And of course, we can be grateful for birds.

The bird in the photo is a Snowy Egret. It’s here to remind us of the extraordinary beauty that exists in Nature.

Snowy Egrets will “dance” in shallow water to stir fish out of hiding. They jump and hop, back and forth. It’s certainly a show worth attending.

As you might expect, I called out to the bird, “Thank you!” I did this because these simple words matter as much to the person (or bird) who hears them as the person who speaks them.

Much success,

Steve Kaye

Did You Know?

The most effective way to help birds is to buy land.

Here are three organizations that excel at doing this.

1) American Bird Conservancy

2) The Nature Conservancy

3) The Trust for Public Land

Please visit their web sites to learn about the work they do.

Here’s an excellent book: The American Bird Conservancy Guide to Bird Conservation

I agree that an attitude of gratitude every day does a lot for our mental health and enjoyment of life. I, too, am very thankful for the beauty of nature.

Fantastic shot, the way you capture its feet just touching the water and perfectly reflected. Your photos rarely fail to take my breath away. Love the new, easy-read look of the blog!
