Welcome to Earth Day 2022.

Let’s begin by recognizing we are as much a part of the Earth as the Earth is a part of us.

So Earth Day is more than an event about our planet. It’s also about us. And thus, we can:

1) Celebrate

While we celebrate the beauty in Nature, we can also celebrate what that we have done to protect Nature.

This might include using resources prudently, discarding trash properly, and buying products wisely.

2) Heal

While we work on projects that heal Nature, we can also take time to heal ourselves.

This might include going slower, being mindful, and showing kindness.

3) Care

While we care for Nature in our daily routines, we can also care for ourselves.

This might include taking time to rest, eating healthy foods, and enjoying the beauty outside.

Then there’s a challenge for Earth Day 2022:

Consider this to be a friendly, gentle nudge that asks: What can you do?

This will always matter because life changes constantly. Both new challenges and new opportunities arise.

So what can you do to be a better, more responsible Earth citizen?

And of course, this includes: What can you do to be a better, more caring person – where you achieve greater serenity, deeper wisdom, and better health?

Because just as we need birds, we need people who care about them.

Much success,

Steve Kaye (who celebrates Earth Day, every day)

Did You Know?

The most effective way to help birds is to buy land.

Here are three organizations that excel at doing this.

1) American Bird Conservancy

2) The Nature Conservancy

3) The Trust for Public Land

Please visit their web sites to learn about the work they do.

Thank you for this wonderful reminder to look around at the beauty that we sometimes take for granted! Look at the simple but interesting items around you when out walking: The way a pine cone is shaped, how soft moss is and the places it grows. So much to see and smell!! Look at your surroundings as if you were 3 years old, really see things! The Earth is a wonderful, energetic, exciting, and happy place, be a part of all of that! Hugs.
